Honeymoon Adventures in Santorini Part 2: Exploring Paradise and Preparing for Athens
Welcome back to the next chapter of our Santorini honeymoon adventure! Days 4 to 6 have been nothing short of incredible as we navigated the stunning landscapes of Santorini. Let’s dive right into the details.
Sailing the Turquoise Waters
Day 4 brought us an unforgettable experience as we embarked on a full-day private boat excursion with Santorini Seabreeze. Our adventure kicked off with Trevor taking the helm of our own private boat. Despite some rough seas, Trevor expertly guided us through the azure waters, ensuring our safety and creating cherished memories along the way.
After a day on the water, we returned to our charming hotel and decided to treat ourselves to an exquisite dinner at Aerno restaurant. The restaurant’s location just a minute’s walk from our hotel made it a convenient choice. We savored delicious pasta dishes and enjoyed a wonderful evening.
Caldera Tour and Exploring Thirassia
The following day, at 9:30 in the morning, we set off for Ormos Firon. From there, we embarked on a half-day Caldera tour, which promised breathtaking views and fascinating stops. We rode a cable car from the parking to the tour’s meeting place.
As we explored the volcanic wonders of Santorini, we marveled at the Santorini Volcano and reached Nea Kameni’s jetty. But the highlight for us was undoubtedly the visit to Palea Kameni, where we indulged in the famous hot springs on the west side of the island.
Our adventure continued with a stop at the picturesque island of Thirassia, a true gem with a charm reminiscent of Santorini from years past. For two hours, we explored the traditional village, immersing ourselves in the authentic Santorinian culture and cuisine.
After this memorable day, it was time to say goodbye to our first hotel, Avianto Suites. We eagerly checked into our new accommodation, Santorini Sky, renowned for its breathtaking views. To conclude our day in style, we enjoyed a delightful dinner at Volkan on the Rocks, savoring flavors unique to Santorini.
Capturing Memories and Hiking Adventures
Our Santorini adventure was far from over. Day 6 began with a unique experience: a Santorini Flying Dress session featuring the beautiful bride, Chelsea. This magical moment allowed us to capture the essence of our love against the backdrop of Santorini’s beauty.
Following this enchanting experience, we heeded the advice of our gracious photographer and enjoyed brunch at Confetti restaurant. Our next stop was Nomikou, where we embarked on a hike from Oia back to Fira. A fascinating tidbit we discovered was that our villa at Santorini Sky is situated on a hiking trail, adding an unexpected dimension to our stay.
After our invigorating hike, we headed to Oia for a refreshing drink and some fun exploration. Finally, we rounded off the day with a cozy dinner in the comfort of our hotel room.
Next Stop: Athens, Greece
