Post-dinner, something truly heartwarming happened. Our waitress, Jenny, went above and beyond, offering to watch over our luggage while we stole a few moments to visit the iconic White House and the majestic Washington Monument. It was a beautiful evening, albeit a bit rainy, and it marked our first act of compromise as a married couple. Chelsea was hesitant to walk in the rain, but we struck a deal, and a short 3-minute stroll to the White House became our compromise.
With impeccable timing, we arrived at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) for the next leg of our journey. Thanks to our business class tickets, we had the privilege of accessing the Lufthansa Senator Lounge, where premium cocktails and mouthwatering beef brisket awaited us. The experience was nothing short of luxurious, setting the stage for what was to come.
Boarding our flight from the lounge, we were greeted by the epitome of comfort. Our sleeper cab seats reclined entirely flat, equipped with spacious TV screens for our entertainment. The excitement was briefly interrupted by a medical incident towards the rear of the plane when an overhead bag fell on someone, causing a slight delay. Nevertheless, we were in good hands.
